6月7日/8日照常上课通知暨长周末活动推荐

各位老师、同学和家长：
大家好！下个星期周末（6月7日/8日）恰逢周一国王生日公众假日长周末，我校各年级继续上课。我们在今年开学前曾向大家公布6月7日/8日为全校教师教研日，后来在联邦大选的周末（5月3日/4日）我们停了课。为了保证各个年级有正常的教学时间，我们决定6月7日/8日全校上课，原定教研日活动另行安排。届时，请大家按时来上课。
照惯例，每年的第二学期我们将举办各年级的全校统一考试（VCE11、12年级除外），检查上半学年各个年级学生的中文掌握程度，帮助学生更清楚地了解自己目前的学习情况。对学生来说可针对考试结果进行查漏补缺，解决问题；对教师来说要根据学生答题情况认真分析，要不断改进教法提高教学质量。
今天，我要在这里跟大家推荐一个在国王生日公众假日的长周末举办的活动，欢迎我校老师、学生和家长参加，给您的公众假日增添欢乐：
这个活动名为“2025多元文化节”，是由我校校园安全志愿者团队的组织者–澳洲华人专业人士俱乐部（CPCA）主办，维州多元文化委员会、白马市政府、聚澳传媒赞助的。活动日期：6月9日（星期一，国王生日公共假日）；地点：博士山市政厅Box Hill Townhall；活动时间：上午10点30分至下午4点。免费入场，您如方便请提前登记（请阅活动广告并在线登记https://www.trybooking.com/DBLZZ）以便主办方提前做好各种准备。
这个多元文化节不仅有丰富的各民族文艺表演，还有各式的商家摊位，美食，玩具，礼品，艺术品，儿童娱乐等项目。我代CPCA做个宣传：请在6月9日到博士山市政厅参加多元文化节活动。

Principal’s Message
Dear teachers, students and parents,
Next weekend (June 7th/8th) is within the long weekend for the King’s Birthday (Monday 9th June), however, our classes will continue as usual for all year levels at XJS. At the beginning of the year, we had announced that June 7th/8th would be the school’s Curriculum Day for teachers. However, since we cancelled classes on the weekend of the Federal Election (May 3rd/4th), in order to ensure sufficient teaching time for all year levels, we have decided that there will be regular classes on June 7th/8th. The originally planned Curriculum Day activities will be rescheduled. Please make sure to attend classes on time next weekend.
Normally at XJS, in Term 2 each year, we will hold a school-wide semester exam for all year levels (except for VCE Year 11 and 12). The purpose is to assess students’ Chinese proficiency from the first semester and to help them better understand their current learning progress. For students, the exam results can help identify and address gaps in their knowledge. For teachers, it is important to carefully analyse students’ responses in order to continuously improve teaching methods and enhance the quality of instruction.
Today, I would like to recommend an event that will be held during the King’s Birthday public holiday long weekend. We warmly welcome our teachers, students and parents to participate and add some joy to your holiday!
This event is called the “2025 Harmony Festival”, and it is hosted by the Chinese Professional Club of Australia (CPCA)—the organizer behind our school’s yard duty volunteer team. The event is sponsored by the Victorian Multicultural Commission, Whitehorse City Council and Ausfocus.
Event date: June 9th (Monday, King’s Birthday public holiday)
Location: Box Hill Town Hall, Box Hill
Time: 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Admission is free. If convenient, please register in advance (see the event advertisement and register online at https://www.trybooking.com/DBLZZ) so the organizers can make proper preparations.
The Harmony Festival will feature not only a variety of cultural performances from different communities, but also a wide range of vendor stalls, delicious food, toys, gifts, artworks and children’s entertainment. I’m helping CPCA to spread the word: Please come to Box Hill Town Hall on June 9th to join the Harmony Festival!
