各位老师、同学和家长好！
首先，我想在这里正式通知大家：由于我们第一学期第三周（2月13/14日）因维州政府的疫情限制封城而停课一周影响了教学任务的完成，学校决定第二学期提前一周（4月17/18日）开学。即，第二学期原定4月24/25日开学，6月12/13日结束，现改为4月17/18日开学，6月12/13日结束，共9个教学周。各个校区会根据所租用的日校校舍具体情况做进一步的安排，请老师、同学和家长们提前做好准备并注意班主任老师的通知。
其次，我要在这里感谢大家在过去的两个星期里配合学校正在进行的今年教育部的社区语言学校学生信息收集和核查工作。由于老师、同学和家长们的重视和合作，目前新金山中文学校、东区和西区中文学校共300多个班级5000多学生中已有95%以上学生的信息完成收集和核查。这项工作的进展情况很不错。需要指出的是，根据维州教育部的要求，所有社区语言学校必须每年向教育部上报及时更新的学生信息，作为教育部对社区语言学校的审计、经费补助以及学校购买保险和发生紧急事故查询的依据。因此，我们必须完整地收集好所有学生的信息，并且要核查保证所有信息的准确。我们的班主任老师和学校办公室学生信息库的管理员老师，会跟部分家长联系核查信息的完整和准确。请家长注意：我们的老师仅向您核查学生信息表上您已经填写好的内容（您可能有时疏忽漏填或填写错误）。
希望我们全校老师、同学和家长互相配合顺利完成好今年学生信息收集和核查工作。

Principal’s Message
Dear teachers, students and parents,
I would like to inform you that due to the Covid-19 lockdown in week 3 (13/14 Feb), we have decided to start Term 2 one week earlier than scheduled to make up the week missed in Term 1. Therefore, Term 2 starts on 17/18 April and ends on 12/13 June (9 weeks in total). Please be aware of the campus notice from your campus manager then and be prepared in advance.
I would also like to present my appreciation for all your efforts made in the process of student information collection and confirmation in the last two weeks. Thanks to your cooperation, 95% of the student information has been collected and confirmed among over 5000 students in 300 classes in XJS, ECLS and WCLS. The DET requires all the community language schools to report and update each year’s student information as the basis of auditing, fund granting, insurance purchasing and emergency contacting. Therefore, we need to collect all the information of our students and ensure the information collected is accurate and updated. Our class teachers and student database admin staff might contact parents for double-checking if necessary as what the class teachers have checked with parents are the information they have provided on the enrolment form (parents might have missed some information or there might be some typo errors on the form).
Let’s work together and accomplish the student information collection work successfully.
