关于本周末照常上课及学生信息核查的重要通知

各位老师、同学和家长：

大家好！由于下个星期一（3月13日）是维多利亚州的公众假日，有些家庭计划安排长周末外出旅游，于是就有家长向孩子所在班级的班主任老师询问本周末（3月11日、12日）我校是否停课。我在这里正式通知大家：本周六、周日我校正常上课。同时，我也想借此机会跟大家强调一下：我们周末授课的社区语言学校课时本来就比较紧张，希望不要缺课。教育部对社区语言学校的教学安排和学生考勤记录也有具体要求，学校应保证所有在校注册学生按时来校上课。对于特殊情况，比如需要临时换课的，请发电邮给相关校区（换课申请每个学期最多限额2次），请大家配合为盼。

此外，根据教育部的要求，我校必须在3月20日之前将在我校注册就读的学生信息上报给教育部，作为教育部给社区语言学校资金补助和购买公众责任保险的依据。教育部特别强调了学生信息准确的重要性，即，学生的姓和名、生日、性别以及就读幼儿园、小学和中学的信息必须与教育部保存的学生在幼儿园、小学和中学里的信息相一致。同时，还需要家长对自己所提供的信息确认并亲自签名。

由于我校有近3700位学生，工作量大、时间紧，因此近两个星期来主要通过班主任老师与家长们联系，核查上述学生的信息。感谢广大家长的积极配合，目前绝大部分的学生信息核查在班级层面的工作已经完成。但是，今年学校根据教育部的要求把现在收集到的信息与学生资料库内历年上报给教育部的学生信息核对时，发现不少学生的姓和名，还有生日与今年填写的不一样，甚至有的学生的生日不仅过去两年不同今年又不同。我们理解家长在填写时会有失误，特别是好几位孩子同时在我校上学的，他们的出生年份不会错，但月份和日期可能会填错。因此，学校信息库的老师（包括我本人）将不得不在20日之前再与家长联系确认，请家长们谅解并配合。（请家长们注意：我们仅核实个别信息。还有，不要在任何群里提供您孩子的信息）

Principal’s Message

Dear teachers, students and parents,

Next Monday (13 March) is a public holiday in Victoria and I understand that many families have plans of long-weekend trips and would like to know whether we are running classes on 11/12 March. I would like to confirm that this weekend (11/12 March) we are running classes as usual. I would also like to remind you not to skip classes on weekends as there are very limited weekend classes in a year. DET has set clear requirements for attendance rate in community language schools and we would try our best to make sure students attend classes each week. For special situations such as class transfer requests, please email to relevant campuses (class transfer twice maximum for each term) and your cooperation is much appreciated.

Based on the DET requirements, we are expected to submit the information of students enrolled by 20 March as the evidence of government funding application and public liability insurance purchase. The correctness of information is critical such as students’ surname, given name, date of birth, gender and names of their day schools or kindergartens as these information would be matched with the records in days schools and kindergartens. After checking the information, parents are required to sign the enrolment form for confirmation.

As there are about 3700 students enrolled, class teachers have taken great efforts in the last two weeks contacting parents and checking students’ information. Thanks to their hard work and parents’ cooperation, most classes have completed information checking work. However, when our admin staff check the information collected compared to the records in our database, we’ve noticed that many students’ newly submitted date of birth is different from that in our records. We understand that parents might make typo mistakes or confused when more than one child is attending XJS and our database staff (including myself) have to contact parents again by 20 March for final clarification. Please be aware that we only double-check one or two information with parents and please don’t share your child/ren’s information in any group chat.
