第三学期放假通知暨假期活动推荐

各位老师、同学和家长：
大家好！我校今年第三学期的课程到本周末结束了。第四学期10月10日、11日开学。由于Mt Waverley中学校区在8月29日/30日停电停课，补课时间改换到12月12日/13日。高中/VCE12年级学生因课程需要在假期继续上课，具体安排请留意班主任老师的通知。
在第三学期假期里，有两个活动我想推荐给学生和家长：
第一个活动：
“小君子营”
时间：9月28日–10月2日
地点：Clayton
主办方：墨尔本紫成阁
这是紫成阁第三次举办深受学生和家长喜欢和称赞的“小君子”营活动，本次以“温良恭俭让”为主题，具体内容有学习思考、华语/中文演讲比赛备战、中式餐饮礼仪、中秋节、十二生肖、中国地理、书法、国画、音乐、舞龙、舞蹈与组织性趣味游戏，是少年儿童的一次难得的快乐的假期生活的体验。包午餐，仅限30个名额，额满为止，报名请点击：https://zeechengkhor.org.au/young-virtuous-person/
第二个活动：
“中华文化大乐园—墨尔本园”
时间：9月21日—25日、9月27日—29日
地点：Templestowe College
主办方：侨友社中文学校、青岛开放大学；承办方：维州山东同乡会
邀请国内12位优秀专业教师，开设少林龙拳、太极扇、中国民族舞、民歌、书法、国画、京剧脸谱、剪纸等。午餐自理，可选择报名全程参加或不同时间参加。请点击查阅更多信息及报名。

Principal’s Message
Dear teachers, students and parents,
Hello everyone! This weekend is the last week of Term 3. The Term 4 will begin on 10/11 October. Due to the power outage and resulting class cancellations at the MWSC campus on 29/30 August, make-up classes have been rescheduled for 12/13 December. Year 12/VCE students will continue classes during the term break to meet curriculum requirements; please look out for specific arrangements from your class teachers.
During the Term 3 break, there are two activities I would like to recommend to students and parents:
Activity One: Little Gentleman Camp
Time: 28/09 – 02/10
Venue: Clayton
Organiser: Zee Cheng Khor Moral Uplifting Society
This marks the third time Zee Cheng Khor is hosting the Little Gentleman Camp—an event highly popular with and praised by students and parents alike. Centred on the virtues of “gentleness, kindness, respect, frugality and humility,” the program features a diverse range of activities: study and critical thinking sessions, preparation for a Chinese speech contest, Chinese dining etiquette, Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, the Chinese zodiac, Chinese geography, calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting, music, dragon dance, dance and fun team-building games. It offers children a rare and delightful holiday experience. Lunch is included. Activity Two: Chinese Culture Camp – Melbourne Camp
Time: 21/09-25/09, 27/09-29/09
Venue: Templestowe College
Organisers: Chinese Fellowship School, Qingdao Open University
Host: Victoria Shandong Fellowship Association
12 outstanding professional instructors from China would be invited to offer classes in Shaolin Dragon Fist, Tai Chi Fan, Chinese folk dance, folk songs, calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting, Peking Opera facial makeup, paper-cutting and more. Participants are responsible for their own lunch; options are available to sign up for the full program or for specific sessions. Please click here for more information and to register.
