- 对维州社区语言学校联合会提供总额540万澳元的财政拨款,用于特殊学生照顾、校区交通管理等领域(交通管理包含限速和交通安全协管);
- 对每位注册的社区语言学校学生每年拨款增加$30澳元;

Principal’s Message
Dear teachers, students and parents,
I would like to let you know two important issues this week.
First, the parking issue on the senior campus and junior campus of MWSC.
I would like to present my sincere appreciation to all your support on the first week of Term 4 when you faced difficulties in parking and it’s pleased to know that the first weekend went smoothly without any accident.
Last weekend, I patrolled at the Gate 8 on the senior campus of MWSC and witnessed how the teachers, students and parents followed the parking and driving rules onsite. Some parents dropped off their children earlier than usual, some parents parked 100-200 metres away and walked their children to school and some parents accepted my explanation of parking changes onsite immediately although they missed our newsletter last week. Our teachers arrived in class earlier than usual and collected the feedbacks and suggestions from parents and most community members demonstrated their understanding and support. Some parents including those from the senior and junior campuses suggested staggered school start and finish times, some claimed that they were carpooling when dropping off and picking up children and some chose to walk their children to school. I would like to present my sincere appreciation for all their contribution and support. However, I also noticed some parents dropped off and picked up their children on non-stopping areas. The traffic management officers of Monash City Council would like to remind all the parents that fines apply to any illegal parking. I believe children’s safety is more important and hope parents could set up good example to their children.
To address the traffic congestions and parking difficulties onsite, we would provide morning care and lunch care from this weekend both on Saturdays and Sundays on the senior campus of MWSC (morning care: 9am-9:30am: lunch care: 12:15pm-12:45pm). Parents could send children to the Gym on the senior campus at 9am (we would organise some activities for students and many teachers have been volunteered to supervise the morning and lunch care) and class teachers would take students to their classrooms at 9:30am. When the morning classes are over, parents could pick up their children from the Gym at 12:45pm. We hope it could provide some help for parents. If you would like to join the morning care or lunch care, please inform your child/ren’s class teachers. Please be aware that students could not be left alone without supervision on campus for child safety concerns.
Second, the government support for community language schools.
As we know, the 2022 Victorian state election is scheduled in November. The Community Languages Victoria has sought election commitment to both Labour Party and Liberal Party for further funding and investment in our children’s future, maintaining language and strengthening social harmony. XJS has also raised our request regarding local traffic improvement and enforcing speed limit of 40km/hr on the main streets around our campuses during school time.
Last Saturday, the Liberal Member for Forest Hill, Shadow Assistant Minister for Community Safety and Candidate for Glen Waverley Neil Angus, Liberal Member for Ashwood Asher Judah and Liberal Member for Box Hill Nicole Tai-Ei Werner visited our Mt Waverley campus and announced their support to community language schools. They claimed that if the Liberal Party could form government in November the following promises would be delivered:
- A total of $5.4 million investment in Community Languages Victoria for special students assistant and transport supervision around schools
- Annual subsidy on community language school students rising $30 per student per year
- A new bus route will run express between Glen Waverley Station, Box Hill Station, Mt Waverley Secondary College and Deakin University
This weekend, the Labour members and candidates would also visit our school and announce their support to community language schools. I will inform you their promises once received. You are also welcome to raise your concerns and suggestions to the two parties and I will pass your feedback to them as well.
The weather is not stable recently. Please take care and let’s see you on campus this weekend.
Yours sincerely,
Kevin Hu, Principal
