第二学期放假通知
各位老师、同学和家长：
大家好！本周末（6月18日/19日）为我校第二学期最后一个教学日，从6月20日至7月15日为第二学期假期。第三学期从7月16日/17日开始。
由于本学期只有8个教学周，我校各年级的老师们为更好地完成教学任务，决定将考试放在这最后一周，因此学生成绩报告将会在稍后发给家长。我校VCE12年级学生因高考单元测验将会在下个星期返校上学，请同学们注意查看班主任老师的通知。
这个假期，我校将组织学生参与丰富多彩的假期活动，包括：
- 从6月20日/21日起至6月29日/ 30日的“亲情中华. 网上夏令营”。我校有超出320多位学生分别报名参加中国侨联举办的广东营、深圳营、福建营、象山营和余姚营活动，有近20位我校老师将作为志愿者，来辅导、帮助学生们做好网上夏令营的各项参营活动；
- 从6月27日至7月1日的“中华文化大乐园”活动。我校有200位学生报名参加。北京华文学院和我校的志愿者老师们正在积极准备中华文化才艺内容，学生们将会在这个星期里学到各种才艺，收获快乐；
- 五大洲华裔青少年汉字棋比赛。我校有108位同学报了名。目前所有报名学生都已领到了汉字棋，也参加了比赛主办单位特意为我校学生举办的汉字棋讲座。比赛将在本次假期通过APP进行，我在这里预祝同学们取得好成绩；
- “茶花杯”国际华裔学生书法比赛。我校曾组织学生参加了上一届比赛，在一至三等奖的等级奖评选中，分别取得了名次，为我校赢得了荣誉。今年，我们将继续欢迎对书法有兴趣的学生报名，学校将安排聘请书法老师提供免费辅导。报名电邮：[email protected]。

在第二学期结束之际，请允许我向学校社区的每个成员表示由衷的感谢！谢谢大家在这疫情和流感期间，帮助学校克服种种困难，顺利完成教学。我为所有的成员点赞。

Principal’s Message
Dear teachers, students and parents,
This weekend (18/19 June) is the last week of Term 2 and the school holiday starts from 20 June to 15 July. Term 3 starts from 16/17 July.
As there are only 8 weeks in Term 2, the end-of-term test is scheduled on the last week of Term 2 and the school reports would be sent to parents later. Our VCE Year 12 students are expected to have extra classes next week due to Sac requirements. Please refer to the VCE notice for details.
There are a couple of holiday programs during the school holiday, including:
- Online Chinese Culture Camp (20/21 June – 29/30 June). Over 320 students have enrolled in Guangdong Camp, Shenzhen Camp, Fujian Camp, Xiangshan Camp and Yuyao Camp and about 20 volunteer teachers would assist students to participate the camp activities.
- Chinese Culture Camp (27 June – 1 July). About 200 students have enrolled in the event and the experts from Beijing Chinse Language College and XJS volunteer teachers are designing activities for our students making sure they could benefit the most from the event.
- The Chinese Character Chess Competition. 108 students have enrolled in the event, collected the chess and participated the training. The competition would be conducted through a specific APP. I wish them all the best.
- Camellia Cup Overseas Chinese Calligraphy Competition. Our students have participated in the previous competition and obtained excellent results. This year, you are more than welcome to join in and free training would be provided by Chinese calligraphy teachers. For registration, please email us at [email protected].

Before Term 2 comes to an end, I would like to thank all the community members for your great contribution and support to XJS in the time of Covid and flu season. A big thumb to all of you!
