放假通知、赴中国文化学习活动预告

各位老师、同学和家长：
大家好！首先，我在这里正式通知大家：我校今年第一学期学习将在本周末结束，学校从3月25日起至4月19日放假。同时，也跟大家预告一下：根据我校2024年的校历安排，第二学期从4月20/21日起到6月22/23日结束，其中6月8/9日为全校教师教研日不上课，请大家提前做好准备。
其次，开学以来有不少家长向我询问今年学生赴中国的寻根之旅活动的安排。近日，我们收到了中国华文教育基金会为海外华裔青少年举办的赴中国文化学习和参观旅游的研学营（时间8—12天不等）的活动计划，其中有几个营对我们开放报名，我在以下列出这几个营的大致时间和地点，凡是到今年6月20日年龄达到12岁有兴趣去中国学习旅游的同学都可以报名（请注意：在同一个时间段里每人仅限报名参加一个营的活动）。
任何一个营的报名学生人数达到20人后就可以组团。届时，报了名的同学会收到主办方提供的文化研学具体方案和费用标准。在没有正式组团和我们的老师没有被主办方聘为领队之前，我校老师无法解答与活动相关的具体问题，请大家谅解。报名截止期4月7日（星期日）晚。
2024年第二学期假期（6月下旬至7月初）
云南（昆明、大理、丽江、香格里拉）营
2024年第三学期假期（9月下旬至10月初）
上海、浙江（乌镇、杭州）营
成都、西安营
北京、西安营
此外，上个星期周末，有家长跟我反映莫纳什市政府工作人员在校园周围对家长的停车拍照取证。也有邻居来告诉我，有些家长的车子乱停干扰了邻居们的正常生活，因此不得不由市政府出面通过罚款来提醒大家要遵守规矩。我在这里再次特别提醒家长们注意：请不要在不能停车的地方停车或上、下车，在能停车的位置还要注意停车时间的限制，更不能停在居民家的车道上，建议您把车停在离开校园50至100米之外有大量无时间限制的停车位上。请给您的孩子做出好榜样，避免受罚。
最后，我了解到这个假期有不少老师、同学和家长都安排了出国旅行，无论您去哪里请带上我们的祝愿，祝您一路平安、旅行愉快、满载收获！我们下个学期见！

Principal’s Message
Dear teachers, students and parents,
I would like to let you know our Term 1 ends this coming weekend (23/24 March) and the school holiday starts from 25 March to 19 April. According to our school calendar, Term 2 starts from 20/21 April and ends on 22/23 June including a Curriculum Day week on 8/9 June which is student-free and class-free.
Since the start of the year, many parents have approached me asking for our arrangements about Chinese Culture Camp in 2024. Recently we received invitation from Chinese Language and Culture Education Foundation of China proposing to organise Chinese Culture Study Tour for students outside China and each tour is about 8-12 days. Some tours are now open for registration (please see the information below) and students over 12 years old by 20 June 2024 are more than welcome for registration (one student could only register for one tour during the same time period).
Any study tour is ready when the registration reaches 20 and participants would receive itinerary and price provided by the organiser. Please understand that before any study tour is ready and our teacher is approved as the tour leader by the organiser, we couldn’t provide you detailed information about the events. The registration is due at midnight on Sunday 7 April.

Moreover, last weekend, some parents informed me that Monash city council staff took pictures of parking cars around our campus. I also received complaint from local resident claiming that private driveway is consistently blocked multiple times per day by parents dropping off/picking up students and the issue had been noticed to Monash council. I would like to remind you again: don’t park at any non-stay or non-stop spots for dropping off/picking up children. Please pay attention to time limit of parking spots and never park in the private driveways of local residents. You are recommended to park 50 to 100 metres away from our campus where there were plenty of unlimited parking spots. Please set up a good example for your child/ren.
