学年结束放假通知（03/12/2021）
各位老师、同学和家长：
大家好！我校2021学年在本周末（12月4日/5日）顺利结束，我们放假了。
回顾这又一个疫情反复变化的一年，我要特别感谢全校师生、家长和学校社区的每一成员，与我们学校一起共克时艰，顺利完成全年的教学计划和任务，谢谢大家！
在这特殊时期，无论实体或在线课堂，老师们辛苦付出、同学们坚持上课、家长们积极配合，还有社会各界热心支持捐赠口罩、洗手消毒液等，更有中国侨联、广东省侨联、深圳市侨联、肇庆市侨联、余姚市侨联、慈溪市侨联和广西自治州侨办、桂林旅游学院等为我校数以百计的学生举办网上中华文化夏令营和大乐园活动，爱中文的文化课堂，中国华文基金会的名师课堂，上海侨办的专家讲座等，让我们在面对全球疫情反复的严峻形势下，能继续坚持学习中文和中华文化，拥有一个丰富而令人难忘的一年。
2021年，我校数百位VCE12年级的学生完成了VCE中文高中单科文凭的学习、顺利毕业。这一届毕业生同学经历了连续两年因疫情变化而带来的上课模式的反复变化，你们在老师们的辛勤教学和家长们的不断鼓励下，坚持完成高中中文学业，你们是我们所有学生学习的楷模。我祝愿你们在VCE中文高考中都能取得理想的好成绩。
今年我校年度优秀学生的评选已经结束，我向所有被评上年度最佳学生、年度优秀学生和年度学习进步奖的同学表示祝贺。但是，由于评选有比例，我能理解没有评上的会有遗憾。事实上，所有在疫情期间坚持学习中文的同学都值得被赞扬。写到这里，我想讲一讲我收到有家长来信希望学校像往年一样能给优秀学生发奖牌以便他们永久保存。我对此完全理解。由于受突发的全球疫情影响，原本的奖牌制造商家已联系不上，新联系的因大家知道的船期原因无法保证运抵时间，航空特快的代价我们也难以承受。因此，这两年给优秀学生发奖状也成了特殊时期的特殊办法了。所有获奖学生名单已在学校官网上公布，链接：https://xjs.vic.edu.au/2021年度优秀学生名单。
我想在这样再跟大家讲一讲明年学生报名、交费和注册的事宜。我校2022年学生注册交费工作已经开始，在12月19日之前交付将享受“早鸟”特别优惠。目前已有近2000学生完成交费注册。我们鼓励家长在网上完成转账交费、填写学生信息表（按照教育部规定社区语言学校学生每年需填写一次，并以此作为政府给予学校资助和学生保险的依据），链接：https://xjs.vic.edu.au/2022-registration/。

Principal’s Message
Dear teachers, students and parents,
We would like to let you know Term 4 would end on this weekend (4/5 Dec) and you can enjoy your school holiday from next week.
Looking back at 2021 with ups and downs of Covid-19, I would present my sincere appreciation to all the teachers, students, parents and community members for your great support without which we couldn’t accomplish the teaching tasks in 2021. Thank you!
During this special year, no matter in remote or onsite learning, we have witnessed teachers working so hard, students persisting in their Chinese language learning, parents supporting so much to their children and to the school, kind donations of face masks and hand sanitisers from community members and various online culture camps organised by the responsible Chinese authorities and schools from China. Thanks to your great contribution, we have had a rich-experienced and unforgettable year in Chinese language and culture learning.
In 2021, over hundreds of our year 12 students have finished their VCE Chinese language learning and graduated successfully. They have gone through a hard time in the past two years when the learning mode has been changed from onsite to remote and back and forth. With the great support from teachers and parents, they have completed their VCE Chinese language study and have been considered models for the younger students. I wish you all the best and hope you could achieve excellent results in you final VCE exams.
Students of the year name lists have now been confirmed and I would like to congratulate all the students who have received Students of the Year Award, Outstanding Student Award and Best Progress Award. I understand it is a pity for those who haven’t received awards. However, I believe every single student should be appreciated for persisting in Chinese language learning during Covid-19 lockdown periods. I received some feedback from parents suggesting it would be preferable if medals could be presented to outstanding students which I fully understand. Due to Covid-19, we couldn’t get access to the previous medal manufacturer and new dealers couldn’t assure the arriving time of our order due to Covid-19. Therefore, it is such a pity that we couldn’t present awards as medals as usual. The student lists for award receivers could be found in our website at https://xjs.vic.edu.au/2021年度优秀学生名单
I would like to let you know again the details about 2022 enrolment and registration which is open now. The Early-Bird benefits would be available by 19 Dec 2021. About 2000 students have completed 2022 enrolment and registration. We encourage all parents to make the payment online and fill in the Student Information Form online (as required by DET, every student is expected to fill in this form each year as the evidences of applying for DET funding and claiming insurance) at our school website https://xjs.vic.edu.au/2022-registration/
