各位老师、同学和家长：
大家好！我校2025学年的最后一个学期第四学期将于本周末开学，本学期共九个教学周，到12月6日/7日结束。第四学期有不少重要事项在这里跟大家报告：
第一，每年第四学期最重要也是最引人关注的是我校12年级学生将参加维多利亚州VCE高考的中文考试。我校高中暨VCE中文部在假期里专门为12年级的学生举办了中文口语模拟考试训练，同学们认真准备积极参与，老师们精心辅导、严格要求，现场效果良好。我相信同学们会把数年来在中文学校学到的中文和中华文化知识而提炼出的精髓化在最后的高考卷面上，考出自己最理想、最好的成绩。
第二，在第四学期，学校将举办全校统一考试，1-11年级各班班主任老师将完成学生成绩报告（有条件的班级还将以家长会的形式向家长们汇报孩子们在这一学年里在我校的学习情况），学校还将根据《学生奖励条例》在1-11年级各个班级中评选年度优秀学生并分别给予金牌、银牌和证书的奖励（各个奖项的具体评选名额另外公布）。
第三，不少同学和家长们关心的我校明年各个年级的精英中文班将面向社区公开招生，凡有兴趣希望到中文精英班学习的我校和非我校学生均可报名参加精英班招生考试。这里，我们再次承诺：各年级中文精英班的报名和招生考试一律不收取任何费用（全部免费）。我校各年级中文精英班招生通知即将发布，请留意学校网站、学校微信公众号和学校社区合作伙伴等媒体的报道。
第四，我校2026年招生工作将在第四学期中全面展开。2026年学生报名注册有几个特点：1，各年级学费收费标准维持不变；2，一系列优惠举措维持不变，其中广受欢迎的早鸟优惠和同一家庭第三子女的优惠维持不变。具体来说，在今年放假前完成注册交付学费的可享受提前交费（早鸟）优惠，比如，普通中文（1-9年级）全年注册费加学费为$1000，享受早鸟优惠后仅需付$800（具体优惠细则请参阅即将发布的学校2026年招生简章）。
此外，我校在上个学期举办了维州华校“华文杯”成语故事比赛的校内初赛，因比赛规定1-4年级为一组、5-8年级为一组、9-12年级为一组（均以日校年级为准），所以我们选取各年级组初赛第一名的同学代表学校参加维州决赛的培训，他们是1-4年级组杨竣予、黎育豪、黄念霆、刘丁萌，5-8年级组岳庭宇、杨云帆、祝子惠、杨煜诚，9-12年级组黄丽倩、王嘉睿、王可欣。预祝他们在比赛中取得好成绩。

Principal’s Message
Dear teachers, students and parents,
Hello everyone! The Term 4 of 2025 will begin this coming weekend. This term will last for nine teaching weeks and will end on December 6th/7th. There are several important matters regarding the Term 4 that I would like to share with you here:
First, the most important and highly anticipated event in the Term 4 each year is the VCE Chinese examination for Year 12 students. During the school holidays, our school’s Senior School/VCE Chinese Department organized intensive mock oral exam training sessions for the Year 12 students. The students prepared diligently and participated enthusiastically, while the teachers provided careful guidance and maintained high standards. The sessions went very well. I believe our students will be able to demonstrate the essence of the Chinese language skills and cultural knowledge they have gained over the years at XJS in their final VCE exam, achieving their best and most satisfying results.
Second, during the Term 4, the school will hold a unified examination for all students. Teachers of Years 1-11 will complete student progress reports. In some classes where conditions permit, parent–teacher meetings will also be held to share with parents their children’s learning progress at XJS over the academic year. In addition, in accordance with the Conducts of Students, the school will select outstanding students from each class in Years 1-11 and present them with Gold Medals, Silver Medals and Certificates. (The specific number of awards for each category will be announced separately.)
Third, many students and parents are interested in our school’s Accelerated Chinese Programs for next year. These classes will be open for enrolment to the wider community. Both XJS students and non-XJS students who are interested in joining the Accelerated Chinese Programs are welcome to register and take the entrance examination.
Here, we would like to reaffirm our promise: no fees will be charged for the entrance examinations of the Accelerated Chinese Programs — everything is completely free. The official admission notice for each year level’s Accelerated Chinese Class will be released soon. Please stay tuned to updates on the school’s website, official WeChat account and through our community partners’ media channels.
Fourth, our school’s enrolment for 2026 will be fully launched during the mid of Term 4. The 2026 registration process has several key features:
1. Tuition fees for all grade levels will remain unchanged.
2. A series of discount policies will also remain in place, including the very popular early-bird discount and the third-child discount for families with multiple children enrolled.
3. Specifically, students who complete registration and pay tuition before the end of this school year can enjoy the early-bird discount. For example, for regular Chinese classes (Years 1–9), the total cost including the admin fee and the tuition fee is $1000, but with the early-bird discount, the total cost is only $800. (For detailed information about these discounts, please refer to the school’s upcoming 2026 Admission Guide.)
In addition, our school held the first round of the Victorian Chinese Schools “Chinese Cup” Idiom Storytelling Competition in Term 3. According to the competition rules, Years 1–4 form one group, Years 5–8 another and Years 9–12 another (based on students’ day school year levels). Therefore, we selected the first-place winners from each group to represent our school in training for the finals.
They are:
Years 1–4 group: Junyu Yang, Yuhao Li, Nianting Huang, and Dingmeng Liu
Years 5–8 group: Tingyu Yue, Yunfan Yang, Zihui Zhu, and Yucheng Yang
Years 9–12 group: Liqian Huang, Jiarui Wang, and Kexin Wang
