Principal’s Message
Special Arrangement on 2022 Australian Federal Election Day
Dear teachers, students and parents,
The next Saturday 21 May is the day for 2022 Australian Federal Election and some of our campuses have been selected as Polling Places including Mt Waverley North Primary School campus, Senior Campus of Mt Waverley Secondary College and Koonung Secondary College campus which would be accessible to the public on the day from 8AM to 6PM.
Considering the very limited parking spots onsite and health and safety risks it might bring to our teachers, students and parents when these campuses are accessible to the public, we have made special arrangements for the campuses involved on the day:
Saturday 21 May, 2022 Australian Federal Election Day
Mt Waverley North Primary School Campus
Prep classes (morning and afternoon sessions) would be delivered online on the day.
Early-learning classes would be cancelled on the day. Parents are welcome to encourage children to join Sunday classes as alternative on the senior campus of Mt Waverley Secondary College (morning and afternoon sessions). Please inform your current class teachers if you would like to transfer to Sunday classes once-off so we could make relevant arrangements.
Mt Waverley Secondary College Senior Campus
Year 1-9 classes (including Intermediate and Advanced classes, morning and afternoon sessions) would be delivered online on the day.
VCE classes would be delivered onsite as usual.
(As the Hall is the Polling Place, please enter the Chinese Office via the west side gate of the Hall).
Mt Waverley Secondary College Junior Campus
All the year level classes on this campus would be delivered onsite as usual.
Koonung Secondary College Campus
Please refer to the notice presented by the Koonung campus.
Sunday 22 May
All the campuses would deliver classes onsite as usual.
Moreover, there are two important issues I would like to let you know.
- The Chinese Culture Online Camp is coming soon. Many students have registered to join the event and the deadline for registration is Sunday 15 May. Please feel free to join us through the link below:
https://forms.gle/gbrdRJ73QMFYRUqw6
- Due to the large number of students on the senior campus of MWSC, there have been quite a lot traffic jam during peak time around the campus. As our school staff are not allowed to guide the traffic outside the campus, it brings quite a few troubles such as some parents stopping cars at non-stop areas and some parents making unexpected U-turn which have even brought police investigation. I urge parents to arrive school a bit earlier and strictly follow local traffic regulations. Please read the parking guide below carefully before parking your cars (green lines are unlimited parking area and green dotted lines are limited parking area):
Please also read our weekly Covid Updates at our school’s website: https://xjs.vic.edu.au/covid-19-new-case-updates/
It’s coming colder recently. Please keep warm and healthy. Take care and see you on weekend.
Best regards,
Kevin Hu, Principal
