Please be aware of the following regulations:
Campus safety:
XJS is a DET-accredited child safe community language school. All the teachers and admin staff are holding active Working with Children Check. There are a series of child safety protection policies available within the school (please refer to the school website). We have no tolerance to any form of child abuse and a Child Safe Officer is available on each campus making sure child safe policies are observed onsite.
Non-XJS staff are allowed to stay on campus during class time.
Health and safety:
If any teacher, admin staff, student or parent is not feeling well with symptoms of fever, vomiting, diarrhea or infectious disease, please see your GP first and stay at home for rest. No nail polish with strong smell is allowed within the school.
If students are required to take medicines within the school due to the health conditions, please provide us a medical plan completed by your GP, the medicine required with its usage instructions.
Food safety:
Any food with nuts and eggs are not allowed within the school.
Personal property safety:
Students are not recommended to bring valuable personal item/property to school such as mobile phones and tablets. Students and parents/carers are responsible for a student’s personal item/property, including if it is lost, stolen or damaged at school.
Student dropping-off and collection:
Students are allowed to enter their classrooms 15 minutes before the class starts in the morning. The parents of children in early-learning classes, prep classes and year 1-3 classes are expected to collect students in classrooms. Parents of children in year 4 and above classes could meet students at a mutual-agreed spots within the school. 10 minutes after the class, class teachers would bring students to the Chinese office onsite and parents could collect their children in the office.
If you would like to collect your child/ren before the school finishes, please fill in the Student Early Collection Form in the office first. If you would like to authorize other person to collect your child/ren, please inform the school in writing in advance.
Driving and parking safety:
Due to limited parking spots onsite and parking restrictions around the campus, you are recommended to find quite a lot of unlimited parking spots 50 meters away from the campus. Please read the parking signs carefully to avoid any unnecessary fines.
During peak time when dropping off and picking up your child/ren, please drive carefully and respect other drivers to set a good example for your child/ren.
During Term 1, we might ask you to double check your child/ren’s enrolment information for the purpose of DET funding application and purchasing insurance for all the students. Your cooperation is much appreciated and please do not disclose your child/ren’s personal information in any group chat. If you have any questions regarding your child/ren, please contact the class teachers or office admin staff for assistance.
Term 1 starts on 8/9 Feb and ends on 29/30 March. One week before the start of Term 1, we organised teachers’ seminar and training and now teachers are ready to welcome your arrival. I wish you a very pleasant learning season ahead.
See you on campus this weekend.
Yours sincerely,
Kevin Hu, Principal
