开学通知和注意事项

各位老师、同学和家长：

大家好！我校本周末开学了。我们已经给所有学生安排好班级，班主任老师已接受培训并进行备课做好了上课准备。这几天，所有家长会收到您孩子被编入哪个班级、教室安排等的通知。如果您没有收到邮件的话，请仔细核查您给孩子注册时填写的第一联系人的邮箱，看看邮件是否被分类到其它文件夹，或者该邮箱已满不接受新邮件了。要是实在找不到，可在您给孩子选择的上课时间的当天适当提前些到校区办公室查询。

据统计，截止2026年1月底，我校已有3266位学生完成付费注册，他们将参加早教（3-4岁亲子班）、学前（4-5岁）、1-12年级（包括VCE中文—第一语言、第二语言、第二语言高级组、中国语言文化和社会、IB11/12年级）的中文学习。上课时间可选择周六上午下午或周日上午下午，学生因故无法上课可申请临时换班，每学期最多2次。

校园安全

我校是教育部认可的旨在保护儿童安全的社区语言学校，所有教职员工具有Working with Children Check 证件，我校遵照教育部（DET）、维州注册与资格管理局（VRQA）以及社区语言学校协会（CLV）的要求制定了一系列严格的儿童安全保护政策（详情请参阅学校官网），我们的校园对任何语言和行为的暴力零容忍，各校区设有儿童安全专员严格执行儿童安全保护条例。

上课期间禁止非本校员工滞留校园。

校园健康

任何教职员工、学生和家长如身体不适，有发烧、呕吐、腹泻等症状及患有传染性疾病应先就医、请勿到校。学校禁止师生使用有气味的指甲油。

任何学生基于健康因素在上课期间需要使用药物的，请提前告知学校，并务必提供医生证明（药方及使用说明）自备药品。

食品安全

学校禁止师生携带干果、蛋制品到校。

个人物品安全

除课堂教学需要外，不建议学生带贵重物品到学校（如手机、平板电脑等），以免丢失。学生及家长对带到学校的个人物品负责（包括任何丢失或损坏）。

接送学生

上课前，学生可提前15分钟进入教室；放学后，所有早教、学前及1-4年级学生家长必须到教室接孩子，5年级以上学生可由家长指定孩子在校园内某处等候，放学10分钟后班主任老师会将学生带到办公室，家长需到办公室接孩子。

如家长需提前带孩子离校，请一律先到办公室办理提前接孩子申请。如委托他人接孩子，必须书面通知学校。

交通安全

由于我校学生多校园停车位少，而紧靠校园四周的区域停车限制多，因此建议家长在校区50米外大量无限时处停车。请家长们务必注意马路上的交通管制标志，避免受罚。

在上学和放学高峰期，请大家务必注意行车安全，提倡礼让，给您的孩子树立好榜样！

我校会在第一学期根据教育部的要求向学生和家长核实学生信息的准确，以此作为申请教育部资助和购买保险的依据。同时，请家长们注意不要在班级群里公开您孩子的个人信息和讨论您孩子的个人事宜，如有需要请与班主任老师或学校办公室联系再作交流。

第一学期从2月7日/8日开始到3月28日/29日结束。

Principal’s Message

Dear teachers, students and parents,

Hello everyone! Our school starts this weekend on 7/8 February. We have arranged classes for all students, and our teachers have received professional training and prepared lessons to be ready for class. In the last few days, parents might have received notifications of which class your child will be placed in and classroom location, etc. If you have not received the email, please carefully check the email address of the first contact person you filled in when registering your child to see if the email is classified into other folders, or if the email address is full and does not accept new emails. If you really can’t find it, you can go to the school office onsite to check in advance on the day you choose the class time for your child.

Up to the end of January, 3,266 students have completed the payment and enrolment for 2026. They will participate in early learning classes (for 3-4 years old), preschool classes (for 4-5 years old), and years 1-12 classes (including VCE Chinese – First Language, Second Language, Second Language Advanced, Chinese Language, Culture and Society, and IB11/12). The classes are available for Saturday morning and afternoon or Sunday morning and afternoon. Students who are unable to attend classes for personal reasons can apply for temporary class transfer (up to 2 times per term).

Welcome back to campus! Please read the following information carefully when visiting our campuses on weekends.

Campus security

XJS is a community language school accredited by the DET to protect children’s safety. All faculty and staff hold active Working with Children Check certificates. We have adopted a series of strict child safety protection policies as requested by DET, VRQA and CLV (please refer to the school’s website for details). Wd have zero tolerance for violence in any language and behaviour on campus. There is one Child Safety Officer for each campus to strictly enforce child safety protection regulations onsite.

Non-school employees are prohibited from staying on campus during classes.

Campus health

Any faculty, staff, students or parents who are unwell, have symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea or have infectious diseases should seek medical treatment first and please do not come to school. The school prohibits teachers and students from using scented nail polish.

If any student needs to use medicine during class due to health reasons, please inform the school first and provide a doctor’s certificate (prescription and instructions for use) with your own medicine.

Food safety

Teachers and students are not allowed to bring nuts and egg products to school.

Personal items security

Except for classroom learning needs, students are not recommended to bring valuable items to school (such as mobile phones, tablets, etc.) to avoid loss. Students and parents are responsible for personal belongings brought to school (including any loss or damage).

Drop-off and pick-up students

Before class, students can enter the classroom 15 minutes in advance; after school, all parents of Early-learning, Prep and Year 1-4 students must enter the classroom to pick up their children. For students in Year 5 and above, parents can designate their children to wait somewhere on campus. The class teacher will take the students left in the classroom to the school office 10 minutes after school, and parents need to go to the office to pick up their children.

If parents need to take their children out of school before the classes are over, please go to the office first to apply for early pickup. If you entrust someone else to pick up your child, you must notify the school in writing.

Traffic safety

Due to limited parking spaces on campus and the parking restrictions around the campus, parents are encouraged to park 50 meters away from the campus where there are a lot of parking spaces without time limit. Please pay attention to the parking signs nearby to avoid receiving fines.

During the peak hours of school and after school, please be sure to pay attention to driving safety, promote courtesy and set a good example for your children!

In the Term 1, we will verify the accuracy of student information with students and parents in accordance with the requirements of the DET. The information collected will be used for funding application from the DET and purchasing insurance for students. At the same time, parents are reminded not to disclose your child’s personal information or discuss your child’s personal matters in the Wechat class group. If necessary, please contact the class teacher or the school office for further communication.

Term 1 starts on 7/8 February and ends on 28/29 March.
