第一,儿童安全与健康准则是在各阶层的领导、管理和文化中贯彻执行的原则;
第二,让儿童和年轻人知道他的权益,邀请他们参与影响他们生活的决策的原则;
第三,家庭和社区知晓并参与儿童安全与健康建设的原则;
第四,在儿童安全准则制定和执行中尊重多元化、提倡平等的原则;
第五,参与儿童工作的人员在工作中认同儿童安全与健康价值观的原则;
第六,以儿童为中心的投诉程序的原则;
第七,通过为员工和志愿者提供有关儿童安全的持续培训和再教育保障儿童安全的原则;
第八,提高实体与网上环境中儿童的安全与健康,减少儿童受到伤害机会的原则;
第九,定期回顾总结,不断提高全国儿童安全准则贯彻执行的原则;

Xin Jin Shan Chinese Language and Culture School
Principal’s Message
Dear teachers, students and parents,
I would like to talk about the child safety on campus again. As a community language school, no serious injury or accident has ever happened at XJS on campus (including teachers, students and parents). The Victorian Government believes it is important that organisations are subject to a well-defined legal duty to prevent child abuse within organisations. Therefore, it is necessary for us to let you know the 10 national principles regarding child safety.
1. Child safety and wellbeing are embedded in organisational leadership, governance and culture.
2. Children and young people are informed about their rights, participate in decisions affecting them, and are taken seriously.
3. Families and communities are informed and involved in promoting child safety and wellbeing.
4. Equity is upheld and diverse needs respected in policy and practice.
5. People working with children and young people are suitable and supported to reflect child safety and wellbeing values in practice.
6. Processes to respond to complaints and concerns are child focused.
7. Staff and volunteers are equipped with the knowledge, skills and awareness to keep children and young people safe through ongoing education and training.
8. Physical and online environments promote safety and wellbeing while minimising the opportunity for children and young people to be harmed.
9. Implementation of the national child safe principles is regularly reviewed and improved.
10. Policies and procedures document how the organisation is safe for children and young people.
I would also like to let you know new Child Safe Standards now apply in Victoria.
Standard 1: Organisations establish a culturally safe environment in which the diverse and unique identities and experiences of Aboriginal children and young people are respected and valued.
Standard 2: Child safety and wellbeing is embedded in organisational leadership, governance and culture.
Standard 3: Children and young people are empowered about their rights, participate in decisions affecting them and are taken seriously.
Standard 4: Families and communities are informed and involved in promoting child safety and wellbeing.
Standard 5: Equity is upheld and diverse needs respected in policy and practice.
Standard 6: People working with children and young people are suitable and supported to reflect child safety and wellbeing values in practice.
Standard 7: Processes for complaints and concerns are child focused.
Standard 8: Staff and volunteers are equipped with the knowledge, skills and awareness to keep children and young people safe through ongoing education and training.
Standard 9: Physical and online environments promote safety and wellbeing while minimising the opportunity for children and young people to be harmed.
Standard 10: Implementation of the Child Safe Standards is regularly reviewed and improved.
Standard 11: Policies and procedures document how the organisation is safe for children and young people.
A safe learning environment is critical for delivering teaching on campus and the wellbeing of all the students. We need the understanding, support and participation of every community member.
