第二学期开学通知

各位老师、同学和家长：
大家好！我相信大家一定度过了一个充实、愉快的假期生活。我们今年第二学期将在本周末正式开学了，请做好准备准时返校。
2024年第二学期从4月20/21日起到6月22/23日结束，其中6月8/9日计划为全校教师教研日，当天不上课，同学和家长们可以有一个长周末，请大家提前做好准备。
第二学期我校教学工作的重点是教师教学交流，互相学习，安排听、替课，目的是进一步全面提高各年级的中文教学质量。
在开学之际，我们收到一个喜讯：
在最近刚刚揭晓的第二十四届世界华人学生作文大赛获奖名单中，新金山中文学校师生再次榜上有名、荣获殊荣。
薛兰花、吴明和陈儒宣等老师辅导的汤睿宸、石宁静、季欣睿等3位学生的参赛习作获得大赛一等奖；蔡丹虹、薛兰花、徐佩芬、吴明和陈儒宣等老师辅导的蔡昱辰、刘柏呈、李安然、许子诚、刘子越、张舒杰、鲍昱、陈心儿等8位学生的参赛习作获得大赛二等奖；李想、蔡丹虹、薛兰花、徐佩芬和陈儒宣等老师辅导的钱澜嫕、于霏洋、万绍涵、徐唯予、高楚然、沈安迪、吴宗涵、冯钰露、蔡震易、郑添棋等10位学生的参赛习作获得大赛的三等奖。
薛兰花、吴明、陈儒宣、蔡丹虹、徐佩芬和李想等6位老师获得大赛评委会颁发的“优秀指导教师”荣誉证书。
在此，向所有获奖学生和他们的指导老师表示祝贺！希望会有更多的学生通过在我校的中文学习将来在国际中文写作比赛中取得好成绩。

Principal’s Message
Dear teachers, students and parents,
I believe you have had a wonderful and relaxed school holiday. Our Term 2 starts this weekend and I hope you are ready to be back to school.
Term 2 starts from 20/21 April and ends on 22/23 June including a weekend (8/9 June) when there will be a Curriculum Day and there are no classes for students. You could have a long weekend then and be prepared for the break.
The teaching focus of Term 2 is teaching experience sharing for our teachers and class observation would be arranged during the term to encourage the improvement of teaching quality of all year levels.
Just before the school starts in Term 2, we got a very good news:
The 24th World Writing Competition for Chinese Students revealed the Winners List where the name of XJS attracted people’s attention again.
Three students including Ruichen Tang, Ningjing Shi and Xinrui Ji instructed by teachers Lanhua Xue, Ming Wu and Tan Seok Ting have been awarded the First Prizes; eight students including Yuchen Cai, Bocheng Liu, Anran Li, Zicheng Xu, Ziyue Liu, Shujie Zhang, Yu Bao and Xiner Chen instructed by teachers Danhong Cai, Lanhua Xue, Peifen Xu, Ming Wu and Tan Seok Ting have been awarded the Second Prizes; ten students including Lanyi Qian, Feiyang Yu, Shaohan Wan, Weiyu Xu, Churan Gao, Andi Shen, Zonghan Wu, Yulu Feng, Zhenyi Cai and Tianqi Zheng instructed by teachers Xiang Li, Danhong Cai, Lanhua Xue, Peifen Xu and Tan Seok Ting have been awarded the Third Prizes.
The six teachers including Lanhua Xue, Ming Wu, Tan Seok Ting, Danhong Cai, Peifen Xu and Xiang Li have been given the Excellent Instructor Awards.
I would like to present my sincere congratulations to all the awarded students and their instructors. I hope more and more students could participate and shine in the writing competition in the future.
