各位老师、同学和家长：
大家好！本周末是我校今年第一学期最后一个教学日，从4月4日起我们学校放假，第二学期4月30日/5月1日开学。
在新冠肺炎全球流行两年多里，我们学校始终把全校师生们的健康安全放在第一位，严格执行政府的各项疫情防范举措，使到我校的中文教学活动照常进行。我们也响应政府的号召，鼓励老师、学生和家长接种新冠疫苗。在本周六，特别邀请维多利亚州卫生部的流动疫苗接种站来到我校，给我校5岁以上的学生，以及教职员工和家长接种新冠疫苗（已有学生、教师和家长登记当天接种）。

作为一所社区语言学校，我校也积极鼓励学生参与澳洲社会，尤其是学习了解澳洲全民性的体育活动–AFL澳式足球（橄榄球）。最近，我们与AFL Victoria联合成功举办了新金山学生澳式足球体验活动，得到老师和家长们的支持，受到学生们的欢迎。
在即将过去的第一学期，我校师生们经历了网课教学和返校上课的变化，全校各年级学生始终保持极高的出勤率。我们学校社区的所有成员在疫情面前团结一致，共克时艰，保障了我校各项工作的正常运行，为坚持办好华文教育事业做出了贡献。我向大家表示感谢。
这里，跟大家报告即将在我校学生中开展的两项大活动：一是2022年的“亲情中华.为你讲故事”海外华裔青少年网上夏令营活动已经开始，我校将选定适当时间组织学生参加，请大家注意具体活动通知；二是今年将举办“五大洲华裔青少年代表中国汉字棋竞赛”。我校有数十位教师参加过汉字棋师资培训，他们会在各自执教的班级讲解汉字棋基本知识，并组织动员学生报名参赛（具体比赛要求另行通知）。

Principal’s Message
Dear teachers, students and parents,
This weekend is the last week of Term 1. Our Term 2 starts from 30 April /1 May.
In the last two years during the pandemic of Covid-19, we have always put the health of all school community members in the priority and have followed various restrictions required by the government and DET. All our teachers, students and parents are also encouraged to get the Covid-19 vaccination. This weekend (the last week of Term 1), we are pleased to invite the COVID-19 VACCINATION POP-UP CLINIC from Monash Health to provide vaccination services on the senior campus of MWSC. Students over 5 years old and adults are able to receive vaccination onsite (registration for vaccination has been received).

As a community language school, we have actively participated in community events especially encouraging students to understand the most popular Australian sports – AFL. Recently we have organised an AFL experience event onsite and it has been largely welcome and supported by students and parents.
In Term 1, we have gone through the change from online learning to onsite learning and students have maintained high rate of attendance. I appreciate the support provided by all the school community members who have contributed greatly making sure the operation of the school is running smoothly.
I would like to introduce two events coming soon to our school. The first one is 2022 online Chinese Culture Camp. We would send out the event notice soon. The second event is Continental Chinese Character Chess Competition. Many teachers have participated in the Chinese character chess training and they would explain the basic rules of the game to students and encourage them to join the competition (event notice would be available soon).
